What are the
benefits of attending a
New Hampshire truck driving school?
Obtaining a New Hampshire
commercial driver’s license isn’t an easy process. New Hampshire
truck driving schools walk their students through the entire process.
They use the commercial driver’s manual provided by the state of
New Hampshire to instruct students.
What are some
specific things I
might learn at a New Hampshire truck driving school?
You will
learn what traffic signs mean, including warning and railroad signs.
You will learn how to safely drive a tractor trailer. You will learn
how to drive a tractor trailer in a variety of traffic and weather
conditions.
Is there a minimum
age requirement
for the CDL?
If you are driving within the state of New
Hampshire only, you must be 18. If you are planning on driving
outside of New Hampshire, which most class A commercial drivers do,
you must be at least 21.
If I am convicted
of a traffic
violation, am I required to let my employer know?
Yes. In
fact, you must let them know within 30 days of your being convicted.
What if I’m not
sure about driving
a commercial vehicle for a living?
You can practice driving a
big rig with anyone who has a current Class A commercial driver’s
license and who is at least 25 years old. This will help give you
some idea of whether or not a career in the trucking industry is for
you. If you don’t know anyone who has a Class A commercial driver’s
license, you can learn a lot about the trucking industry at a New
Hampshire truck driving school.
How often should I
inspect my
tractor and trailer?
You should perform a pre-trip inspection
before you begin any trip. You should make sure that all lights work,
that the tires are not worn or have low air pressure, and that the
brakes work.
Besides a pre-trip
inspection, what
can I do to prepare for a trip?
First, give yourself plenty of
time, especially if you are delivering to a new place. Second, take a
look at a map to see where you are going. This can help you prepare
for otherwise unexpected road conditions.
What do I do if my
vehicle starts to
skid?
Keep your foot off the brake. You can practice what to
do when your vehicle starts skidding at a New Hampshire truck driving
school.
